“Fame Whore”
Three in One
Amos Lassen
“Fame Whore” is a weird and entertaining new movie. Dealing with the lives of three different people, it shows the effect fame has on a tennis player, a dilettante and an animal lover. Our three main characters have one thing in common—they all have the desire to be the best in what thy do,
First up is a tennis player with a very large ego who is outed as gay by the media and how he deals with the publicity. Second is a business woman who thinks she can do no wrong and regards herself as a god. Finally is a nerd who works in a pet shop and hallucinates about a dog named Mr. Peepers who relieves on his desk. All three characters go down and we watch there fall from fame.
This is obviously a low budget independent film that does not have a lot going for it except that the script has novel content. People have talked about the film for years and it is finally been released on DVD. I actually enjoyed it because of the cleverness of the screenplay.
It is, however, grainy and the soundtrack is a bit hard to hear.
