“No Shame” (“Sin Verguenza”)
Looking for Talent
“No Shame” is a small comedy about a film director who goes to visit an acting class in search of new talent. Of course, the students all try to impress and things get really wild. All of the emotions, jealousies, egomanias and insecurities rise to the surface and things get out of hand. At what seems to be an adventure gone wrong soon becomes an adventure turned right.
Joaquin Oristrell directed this madcap comedy and his entire cast is wonderful. I found the movie to be reminiscent of the films of Robert Altman with its ensemble cast and when everything comes together it is magic. The plot is simple— the director is a former lover of the acting school and he has come to town to find actors for his next film. He goes to the school to watch the final exam performance and of course the students go wild trying to impress.
